Privacy policy
Effective 12 October 2026 · private beta. This policy explains what Koach collects, why, who processes it, and your rights. Contact: hello@koachclub.com.
Who runs Koach
Koach, Israel, runs this service and decides how your data is used (the data controller). For any question about your data or this policy, email hello@koachclub.com.
What Koach collects
- Account: your email address and sign-in data.
- What you tell Koach: your profile (schedule, goals, races, equipment), your answers to the health questions (including injury and medical history), check-ins and chat messages.
- What you authorise Koach to read from intervals.icu: activities and their recorded streams (heart rate, pace, power, cadence, GPS), wellness data (sleep, heart-rate variability, resting heart rate and other fields your devices report), your sport settings and thresholds, and your calendar of planned workouts.
- What Koach produces: readiness assessments, training plans, messages and coaching records.
Much of this is health data. Koach processes it only with your explicit consent, given when you sign up and connect intervals.icu. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see "Your rights").
Why
- To coach you: the daily readiness call, weekly plans, plan adjustments and replies to your check-ins.
- To put planned workouts on your intervals.icu calendar, which syncs them to your watch, and to update your training thresholds there when a test measures new ones. When the same indoor session was recorded twice (say by the trainer app and the watch), Koach sets the copy's training load to zero there, so the session counts once.
- To keep the service working and safe: error logs, usage limits and abuse prevention.
Koach does not sell your data, show ads, or share your data for marketing.
How Koach uses AI
Koach's coaching is written by an AI model, Claude, made by Anthropic. It writes the daily readiness message, the weekly plan, the plan changes after a check-in, and the replies when you ask your coach. For each one, Koach sends Anthropic what that message needs: your profile and health answers, your wellness data and activities from recent weeks (the weekly plan looks further back than the daily message) with the training figures Koach works out from them, your notes on injuries, fuelling and past sessions, and your recent check-ins. It never sends your GPS tracks.
Anthropic processes this in the United States under its commercial terms: it does not use it to train its models, and it keeps it for about 30 days, then deletes it (content its safety systems flag can be kept longer). The AI can be wrong: check anything that doesn't look right, and for pain or illness, ease off and see a qualified professional.
Who processes it
- Supabase (South Korea): the database and sign-in. Your data is stored on its servers in Seoul.
- Fly.io (Japan): the service that runs the coaching jobs, on its servers in Tokyo.
- Cloudflare (United States, with servers worldwide): this website and the koachclub.com address. Email you send to hello@koachclub.com passes through Cloudflare to Koach's Gmail mailbox (Google, United States).
- Anthropic (United States): the AI model, as above.
- intervals.icu: the source of your training data and where planned workouts are written. Its own privacy policy applies to your account there. A session recorded on a Garmin device is shown with its device's name ("Garmin [model]").
- Open-Meteo (Switzerland): the weather at each outdoor session. It receives the session's first GPS point (to about 10 metres) and start time, never your name or email, and keeps its request logs for up to 90 days. Weather data by Open-Meteo.com (CC BY 4.0).
- healthchecks.io (Latvia, in the EU): the alerts that tell Koach something needs a look, such as a coaching job that failed or a check-in that asked for help. An alert carries its type, the job, a short account code, the date and sometimes a count or an error type: never your name, email, messages or health details.
- Your browser's push service (Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft, depending on your browser; mostly in the United States): only if you turn on notifications. It carries an encrypted, generic line such as "Your plan for today is ready", never your training or health details. Turning notifications off in Settings deletes the subscription.
Your data is therefore stored and processed outside your country: in South Korea and Japan (all of it), in the United States (for the AI, the website, email and notifications), in Switzerland (weather) and in Latvia (alerts). Where the law requires it, these transfers rely on the providers' data-processing terms, including standard contractual clauses.
How long it is kept
Your data is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account (see "Your rights"), Koach deletes it straight away. Koach has no backups today: the database is the only copy, so what is deleted is gone at once (and data lost in a database failure could not be restored). Raw data read from intervals.icu is used for the job that needs it and is not kept as a separate copy. The working files of each coaching job (what was sent to the AI model and its answer) are kept for 30 days to fix problems, then deleted. The notices intervals.icu sends Koach when your data there changes are kept for 7 days. Anthropic and Open-Meteo keep what they receive for the periods above.
Your rights
- Download your data: in Koach, Settings, then "Download my data". You get one file (JSON) with your account email, your consents, your profile and health answers, plans, check-ins, messages, your intervals.icu connection details (never its access key) and the history of your coaching jobs. It does not include the internal working files of coaching jobs, which are deleted after 30 days.
- Delete your account: in Koach, Settings, then "Delete my account". Koach then removes the workouts it planned on your intervals.icu calendar from the next day on (unless you untick that option; it never touches workouts you or others added), disconnects intervals.icu, deletes the data it stores about you, including the working files of your coaching jobs, and deletes your sign-in. This can't be undone. Koach keeps a record that an account was deleted (the date and counts only) and its service alerts with your account removed from them: no name, no email.
- Correct your data: change it in Settings or in your setup answers. For anything else, or if you can't sign in, email the contact address above.
- Withdraw consent and disconnect intervals.icu at any time, in Koach or in your intervals.icu settings. Coaching stops when you do.
- Complain to your data-protection authority.
Security
Connections are encrypted. intervals.icu access tokens are stored encrypted. Each athlete can read only their own data, and access to the service is restricted.
So that Koach opens without a connection, the app keeps a copy of your current plan and today's message on your device, with today's readiness (and a pain or illness you reported in the last two days). Signing out deletes it.
Not medical advice · 18+
Koach is an AI training assistant, not a doctor or physiotherapist: it adjusts your training, and its guidance is educational. For any pain, illness or health concern, ease off and see a qualified professional. Koach is for adults aged 18 and over.
